We are looking for an efficient Coordinator for Quality Assurance and Assessment to join the American University in the Emirates. The ideal candidate will provide regular review on the instructional strategies and assist with the evaluation of assessment tools and student learning outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience working in a reputable university.
  • Experience in higher education with functional knowledge of institutional effectiveness/quality assurance.

Skills / Training / Knowledge

  • Knowledge and expertise in the technology integration in the area of institutional assessment.
  • Knowledge of assessment and pedagogical practices and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Learning theories and practices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor faculty members' course delivery and ensure course assessments and students grades are conducted and published in a timely manner in accordance with the course syllabi.
  • Monitor the development of the assigned course assessments and provide constructive feedback on the assessment strategies and tools to ensure their appropriateness in accordance with the identified course learning outcomes
  • Guide, support and ensure the development of the grading scheme (rubric) is appropriate and rigor in line of the course and program level.
  • Assist in the development of assessment tools for ensuring valid, reliable and rigor assessment of a curriculum in line with the CAA Standards and National Framework QF Emirates Strands.
  • Assess the quality of the program courses to ensure the rigor of materials used for programs within the Academic Departments and contribute to the improvement of associated quality assurance mechanisms
  • Guide, support and monitor the implementation of the recommended improvements to ensure continuous improvement
  • Serve as a liaison between the Institutional Effectiveness Assessment office and the academic departments and\or programs.
  • Guide, support and monitor the development and implementation of the annual program assessment plans and reports in coordination with Vice President of Academic Affairs and program directors\chair of departments.
  • Communicate to the University’s concerned stakeholders the goals, achievements, and use of results of the academic programs to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Develop comprehensive analysis\summary reports as necessary to help academic programs evaluate the effectiveness of course assessments.
  • Work closely with the concerned committee(s) to assist in addressing the issues pertaining to academic programs assessment and provide the needed support.
  • Work closely with the compliance and accreditation office to provide the needed support in the accreditation activities relevant to academic programs assessment.
  • Perform any duties as assigned by the superiors.
