The College of Business Administration at the American University in the Emirates (AUE), accredited by AACSB, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Public Administration for the DLPA Program (Diploma in Public Administration).

Teaching Load: 12 credit hours per academic semester

 

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in Public Administration in both English and Arabic, assessing student performance, providing academic advising, and actively contributing to administrative duties, research, and community service in alignment with the DLPA program objectives.

 

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Public Administration, Public Policy, or a closely related field from an accredited university in the United States or a recognized institution accredited by an American accreditation body
  • Ph.D. must be completed at the time of recruitment from an internationally accredited university
  • Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the relevant field
  • Minimum of three (3) Scopus-indexed publications or five (5) peer-reviewed journal articles within the last five years
  • UAE Ministry of Education Equivalency is required
  • WES Equivalency (if the degree was not obtained from the USA)

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at an internationally accredited university
  • Proven record of teaching excellence at undergraduate and/or diploma levels
  • Minimum of 3 publications within the last 5 years
  • Experience in public sector institutions or government entities is highly desirable

 

Skills / Training / Knowledge

  • Strong experience in curriculum development and academic program review
  • Demonstrated research capabilities with peer-reviewed publications
  • Active research agenda and collaboration with faculty members
  • Ability to integrate digital tools and e-learning technologies into teaching
  • Commitment to academic service and institutional excellence
  • Excellent proficiency in both English and Arabic (mandatory)

 

Job Responsibilities

1. Instructional Delivery (Teaching Performance)

Deliver high-quality, research-informed teaching in both English and Arabic, utilizing modern pedagogical approaches that enhance student engagement and critical thinking in public administration.

2. Instructional Management

Plan, organize, and effectively manage all instructional activities, ensuring smooth course delivery.

3. Assessment and Evaluation

  • Evaluate student performance objectively and fairly
  • Develop clear and transparent grading criteria aligned with learning outcomes
  • Maintain academic integrity and minimize bias in assessment

4. Curriculum Development and Review

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the DLPA curriculum to ensure:

  • Relevance to public sector practices and policies
  • Appropriate academic rigor
  • Progressive development of analytical and professional competencies

5. Research and Scholarship

Actively engage in research and publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals, supporting the University’s research mission.

6. Professional Development

Participate in academic and professional development activities, including workshops, seminars, and certifications relevant to public administration and higher education.

7. Academic Advising and Student Success

Provide academic advising and mentorship, guiding students in achieving program learning outcomes and career progression in the public sector.

8. Service

Contribute to university, college, and community service through committees, accreditation activities, outreach, and professional engagement.
